Creating custom WhatsApp stickers with ChatGPT could soon become much easier.
An APK teardown of the latest ChatGPT Android app has revealed code suggesting that OpenAI is working on a new “ChatGPT Stickers” feature. It could allow users to create AI-generated stickers and add them directly to WhatsApp without using a separate sticker-making app.
ChatGPT Stickers Could Get a One-Tap Export
According to the findings, the ChatGPT Android app includes references such as “Add to WhatsApp,” “Download stickers,” and “Add to chat apps.”
If released, users could generate a sticker in ChatGPT and then tap “Add to WhatsApp” to transfer it directly into the messaging app.
That would remove several steps from the current process. Today, users generally need to generate an image, download it, prepare or crop it, and then use WhatsApp or a third-party sticker tool to add it.
WhatsApp Stickers Could Be Generated in Packs
The teardown also points to a three-sticker minimum for WhatsApp.
This appears to match WhatsApp's sticker-pack requirements rather than being an arbitrary ChatGPT limitation. Reports indicate that WhatsApp sticker packs can contain between three and 30 stickers.
That could make it possible to create a small personalized sticker pack around a theme, character, meme or inside joke.
The Feature Isn't Available Yet
There is one important catch: OpenAI has not officially announced the feature.
The information comes from an APK teardown of the Android version of ChatGPT. Such teardowns can reveal features that are being tested or developed, but they don't guarantee that those features will eventually be released to everyone.
What It Could Mean for ChatGPT Users
If OpenAI launches the feature, creating AI stickers could become almost as simple as writing a prompt.
You could describe a reaction, meme or character, generate it in ChatGPT and potentially send it to WhatsApp with just a few taps.
For everyday users, the biggest advantage isn't the AI image generation itself. It's the removal of the extra steps between creating an image and actually using it in a conversation.
